DRONE JAMMER

How Do Drone Jammers Work?

Jammers are designed to disrupt a drone by blasting electromagnetic sound at radio frequencies that drones operate and send video at, and at a power level high enough to kill any effective connection between the drone and its pilot. Usually, this is either at 2.4Ghz or 5.8Ghz, which are public frequencies meaning that jammers will not interfere with airplanes, public broadcasts, or other dedicated radio bands. In addition to RF-jamming, when allowed for the client, GPS jamming may be utilized, as a large number of drones rely on GPS either to balance against the wind or go to a set destination set by the user.

When a drone is hit with a jammer’s signal, the drone usually returns back to its origin point, giving the jammer user the possibility to trace the drone back to the pilot. Sometimes the drones might even do a vertical descent and land on the spot whole, which offers the option of performing a legal investigation. Landing on the spot is the general response from drones when both radio frequencies and GPS are blocked at the same time.

How Do Drone Jammers Work?

Why are Jammers a better choice than other solutions?

  1. Jammers are advantageous against drones without damaging the drones or the evidence. Other options often result in damage or destruction to the drone, which can destroy evidence and also result in private property destruction charges.
  2. Another factor is if a drone is carrying a bomb or another deadly item. Using a jammer is the safest course of action because the jammer will usually cause the drone to revert to its point of origin. This is much more reliable than shooting down the drone which could lead to the detonation of the bomb or death.

Are Drone Jammers Legal?

While jammers are usually restricted for use in many countries except by the military, police, and first responders depending on laws, non-GPS jammers are allowed in a number of countries. It is vital to look into the laws and regulations of the country that you are in to conclude whether the use of a drone jammer is legal before operating one.

Why do we need drone jammers?

Consumer and commercial drones come in a wide collection of shape, size, features, and prices. This means that drones can be used for a huge range of criminal uses including:

  • Carrying bombs and other terror.
  • Illegal surveillance.
  • Interfere with manned aircraft or airports.
  • Smuggling narcotics into penitentiaries or across countries.
